Privacy Policy

TL;DR: Pluck runs entirely in your browser. We don't collect, store, or transmit any of your data.

What Pluck Does

Pluck is a browser extension that captures screenshots of webpage elements. All processing happens locally on your device.

Data We Collect

None. We do not collect any personal information, usage data, or analytics.

Data Stored on Your Device

Pluck may store the following data locally in your browser using standard browser storage APIs (localStorage or IndexedDB):

  • Your preferences — background colors, default presets, and other settings you configure
  • Recent screenshots — temporarily cached to enable quick access and re-export (optional feature)

This data never leaves your device. It is not transmitted to us or any third party. You can clear this data at any time through your browser settings or by uninstalling the extension.

Data We Transmit

Nothing. Pluck does not make any network requests. There are no servers. Your screenshots, the pages you visit, and your preferences stay on your machine.

Third Parties

We do not use any third-party analytics, tracking pixels, or advertising services. We do not share data with anyone because we do not have any data to share.

Permissions

Pluck requests only the browser permissions necessary to function:

  • activeTab — to capture the current page when you activate the extension
  • scripting — to inject the element picker into the active tab when you trigger Pluck
  • clipboardWrite — to copy screenshots to your clipboard
  • storage — to save your preferences locally

Pluck only accesses the page you're viewing when you explicitly activate it. It never runs in the background or on pages you haven't triggered it on.

Changes to This Policy

If we ever change how Pluck handles data, we will update this page. Given our commitment to local-only operation, we don't anticipate significant changes.
